If you're an introvert, you may hate this suggestion, we get it ... but it really makes a difference! Some studies have shown that videos and images are directly processed by long-term memory. And that visual learning increases retention by 29-42%. So even though you might have shared our What is POPin and how does it work article with your session participants, this tactic will strengthen your POPin galvanizing plan.

Once POPin is regularly used in your organization, this step won't be needed if you hate doing it. Promise.

But... while POPin is still a new thing, we suggest attaching a selfie video to your first few sessions so you can:

  • Emphasize why the question being presented is important.

  • Explain how participants should engage (using voting and commenting).

  • Describe how the session has been set up (e.g., duration and participation settings).

  • Communicate what you plan to do with the results.

  • Thank participants in advance for their honest input and feedback.

Here's how it works:

  1. Spend some time to think through your script so you can be clear and concise in your video.

  2. Record your video from your smartphone or computer, covering the key points listed above. (The file type must be .mp4, .mov, .avi, .webm, or .wmv, and must be less than 600MB.)

  3. Set up your session, attaching the selfie video file. (While entering the question, click the image/video icon to upload the video file.)

Once you save your new session, a 'Play Intro Video' thumbnail will display by the question.
