As you're getting started on POPin, there are some common terms that are handy for you to know. This POPin glossary includes vocabulary and terminology used to talk about features and aspects of POPin.

Active User

Anyone who viewed or contributed to a POPin.

Anonymous

A permission option in Launch a POPin. When used, users will be anonymous for all activity within your POPin.

Comments

Feedback from users on each other's Responses.

Contributed

The sum of users that have interacted with your Question by taking an action or actions.

Custom POPin

Custom POPin allows you to configure and launch a custom Question to your team.

Joined

The sum of users that have seen your Question.

Launch & Manage

The POPin Creator dashboard, from which you can create and launch a POPin, manage POPins you have launched, and drill down on analytics.

Named

A permission option in Launch a POPin. When used, user names will be displayed for all activity within your POPin.

Open-ended Question

A creator can launch an Open-ended Question to collect freeform answers from their team.

POPin
Can contain a question or questions formed by a POPin creator. 

POPin Creator

Anyone who created a POPin.

Private

A permission option in Create a POPin. Only people you invite can access your POPin and participate. You will be required to enter email addresses of people you’d like to send an invitation to through our system.

Question

Specific topic or issue that a creator uses POPin to Crowdsource and Crowdsolve.

Rating Scale Question

A creator can launch a Rating Scale Question to have their team indicate their level of preference with a 1-5 rating scale.

Responses

The things that users respond to a Question with in an Open-ended Question.

Responded

The sum of users that have selected an option in a Rating Scale or Yes/No Question.

Restricted

A permission option in Create a POPin. Selecting this permission will generate a link that you can send or share with anyone in your organization. Anyone in your organization who has the link AND their email address matches the domain of your organization can access your POPin and participate.

Unrestricted

A permission option in Create a POPin. Selecting this permission will generate a link you can send or share with anyone. Anyone who has the link can access your POPin and participate. It’s that easy!

User

Anyone who uses POPin.

Votes

How a User Agrees

or Disagrees

with an Response, or with a Comment.

Total Activity

All views and contributions to your POPin. 

Video

An (optional) 30-60 second self-filmed kickoff video tied to a Question.

Yes/No Question

A creator can launch a Yes/No Question to have their team validate a hypothesis with a yes or no.
